Matsuda Sunnie Goes Optical

Just because a frame comes one way doesn't mean you can't make it your own. I loved this sunglass from Matsuda even before I decided I wanted to wear it as an optical and with just a pop of the lens, I couldn't help myself. The newest addition to my optical closet, I can't wait to wear this one daily. Love.

I usually don't post "My Newest Frames" until they are in hand and outfitted with lenses, but in this case I am way too excited. Barton Perreira's Ronnie in black and gold is gorgeous. The perfect shape with just the right amount of edge, this style is lightweight, super comfortable and the color is fresh yet elegant. Here's to hoping this baby isn't on backorder before the weekend is over! XO!

It's no secret that I am a Face à Face lover. It's beautifully made, I love the colors, and the people who make and sell it are all quite wonderful people. So, needless to say, when I heard they were coming out with a new line I was both intrigued and excited. A fresh collection consisting of 14 acetate and 6 metal pieces (available in 6 color ways each), Woow Eyewear has a French meets British appeal and comes to you from the co-founders of one of your favorite French optical houses. A little quirky and fun but completely wearable at the same time, the frames in the collection come complete with a little inspirational message at the temple tips. A motivational "Wake Up" or ego-stroking "Well Done" greets you as you put on and take off your next favorite Woow frame, and you can rest assured knowing they will garner the same kind of attention and hold up just as well as those Face à Face frames you just couldn't live without. Can't wait to see them in NYC!

I know this might seem a little plain and simple, but to me it has become the perfect frame for any woman. With 47 and 50mm size options, Barton Perreira's Cassady is the go-to frame for women from age 11 and up; perfect for a progressive, just enough size to feel hip, thin enough zyl to feel both current and understated, and awesome colorways to fit every personality...I love this frame. Oh, and a little red because Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching, what's not to love?

Mostly because this is what I love to do on a foggy Sunday afternoon, but also because I'm a sucker for a deal; indulge in a little guilt free fashion today and thank me later when you're bundled up in that Maison Martin Margiela at 70% off. Here are some of my favorite current markdowns from Ssense. Love! Oh, and did I mention they let you shop the sale by size? Way too easy...just how I like it!

The newest addition comes from a great line by great people. I've been coveting this oversized Matsuda frame since Vegas 2011 and am so happy to call it mine...Now the question remains, to transition or not transition? XOXO

With new representation in the US, Jacques Durand Ochialli is coming to America! A designer you may or not realize that you already know, Jacques Durand has been the man behind some serious eyewear over the past three decades and he has taken his talents from opticianry to European distribution for Alain Mikli to product management and creation of Starck Eyes for Phillipe Starck and Mikli to his own company, JDO (Jacques Durand Ochialli). With classic designs and a retro feel, Jacques Durand's designs are obviously reminiscent of his many years in the eyewear world.

An evolving art form, the spectrum of his collection spans from early Mikli funk to contemporary "Starck" lines and makes it's largest impression with very wearable, easy and classic shapes that don't just whisper "French" - they scream it. Fresh meets old school with a designer/optician who's not afraid of the overwhelming big box mentality currently looming over the eyewear industry. With every Jacques Durand frame, the consumer receives a certificate of origin; a revealing map of manufacturing locations where the wearer can actually trace where each part of their little piece of art was made, Jacques Durand is juxtaposed with the evil empires taking over optical and proves that quality, price and style can be both fairly and stylishly obtained!

Newly in America and distributed exclusively byBinocleuses - check out JD here!

My beauty essentials of the moment. Almost as important as the perfect shades or specs, your beauty regimen should be as up-to-date as your optical closet. With new products coming out monthly, it's tough to know what's fluff and what's worth it!

My classic makeup go-to's come from Trish McEvoy. The makeup planner alone is worth falling for the awesome products; long lasting, quality and great color options, I can't get enough of Trish's bronzer, eyeshadow, liner and light gloss. I've carried a planner in my purse since my Mom finally permitted me to wear mascara, and I don't know what I would do without it. My new favorite foundation/tinted moisturizer replacement comes from Armani Beauty. A tip from one of Dallas' fashion gems, I couldn't help but try Armani Beauty's new Maestro fusion makeup. With technology that allows the color to blend with your skin tone, this skin evening, all-over color is my new go to! To wash it all off or prepare your skin for a new day, Clairsonic's Mia is worth the cash. Exfoliate, clean, refresh - I'm addicted to this little piece of equipment. Almost addicted as I am to Fresh's Brown Sugar body scrub, exfoliate your entire body with this perfect winter skin must-have. Oh, and did I mention La Prairie's sunscreen? The necessity you can't live without, sunscreen is the ultimate beauty must and La Prairie's spf is light, protective and moisturizing. Treat yourself or stuff stockings with these beauty basics and you and everyone on your growing holiday gift list will look and feel great - and don't forget your shades!
