Moonrise Kingdom and Garrett Leight

Moonrise Love.

If you haven't seen it, you must. Not only does my love for Wes Anderson make loving Moonrise Kingdom obligatory, the film itself happens to be heartwarming, charming, beautiful, confusing, whimsical, funny, sad and uplifting all rolled into one. I can't help but love it. Oh, and did I mention the stellar cast, perfect wardrobing and awesome eyewear? Moonrise Kingdom makes me want to wear vintage frames on a daily basis and definitely makes me want to brush up on my camping skills. It's not everyday you come across the perfect vintage B&L safety or "frame france" in crystal or champagne, so in the meantime, Garrett Leight's classicly cool frames offer the perfect Moonrise inspired styles that will not only give you Mr. Murray and Mr. Willis' looks, they will give you that extra authentic edge that eyewear always should. So close to my favorites from the film, I love Garrett Leight's Westminster in Demi-blonde, Kinney in Champagne, and Hampton in Chestnut. Now all you need is a satchel for all your survival essentials (bedtime reading included), a raccoon hat, and maybe some flair.

Happy Birthday Marilyn!

Happy Birthday Marilyn!

Today Marilyn Monroe would have turned 86 years old. The iconic beauty will forever resonate in the hearts of millions and her optical style is one of her many qualities that was timeless, sexy and all-together swoon worthy. Cheers to the Queen of Sex Appeal and Connoisseur of the Cat-eye, Ms. Monroe!

Oscar Favorites and The Missing Accessory

Best Dressed

Last night's Oscar Red Carpet was riddled with a slew of beautiful dresses, fabulous jewels, a few unexpected style choices and a nipple or two. Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton, Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford, and Emma Stone in Giambattista Vali were my three picks for Best Dressed of the evening. From the gown to the hair, their looks were beautifully edited and tastefully tailored. The only missing accessory from the hot list was fabulous sunnies. Not my favorite accessory for indoor use, but pre-party and red carpet worthy specs are both practical and fabulous. If they had worn frames, Michelle would have been pretty in Oliver Goldsmith, Gwyneth demure in Barton Perreira, and Emma sassy in Linda Farrow Luxe. For me, there are a few opticals I would have really liked to have seen on some of the ladies as well, but it seems that Hot men of Hollywood have the corner on the optical eyewear market...and you won't hear me complaining about that!
