Up Close and Personal in LS

Leisure Society

Please forgive me as I gush for a moment...I finally placed my personal Leisure Society order and can't begin to describe the anticipation I'm feeling. Those Christmas mornings when my sister's and I would whine at my parent's bedroom door from 5am to 7am waiting for them to finally wake up so we could see what Santa brought us is pretty comparable to the waiting game I'm playing with Leisure Society. Way too excited for the Pfeiffer and the Oxford...I might be in love.

Find your next Leisure Society spec or sunnie at your local optician and check out fab new styles here.

VEE Turns OFW - A Note to the Industry

Optical Fashion Week

As I snuggle in bed after a long, busy and very fun weekend in NYC, I'm excited to say that it was a success. Not only were the collections fantastic, but I met so many people that make this industry special.  Along with fellow LEF members that I felt like I already knew, I met some fabulous designers, pioneers in the business, and a few new faces I didn't know I was missing out on! From the curators whose shops inspire me, the reps who make it all accessible, and the head honchos that bring it all to life, thanks for such a great weekend..and a couple great parties too! I've said it before, I am completely spoiled having started in such a special and fashionable place in optics and I have to say thanks to everyone for reminding me why I've been cheating on real life with the optical world for the past two years...

So many fun moments and some highlights to come, thanks to everyone who said "Oh yeah, I read your blog!" That in itself is pretty priceless.

Fashion and Function: Transitions

To Transition or Not Transition

It really is the question...Transition lenses are not like they used to be. Stop associating them with that poor nerdy kid in the third grade whose lenses never really turned back to clear after recess and start thinking of them as being both fashionable and functional. While I always suggest a great polarized prescription sunglass for long walks on the beach or hikes on the mountain, a transition lens in your everyday specs is a convenient alternative to a full sunglass for those quick jaunts to the coffee shop or walks to get the morning paper. Also, we all know how cool those vintage OP's of yours will look as a sunglass. Maybe it's time to get the best of both worlds.
