Kitty Cat: Dark Knight Love

Cats

After the three hour wait in line at the sold out showing of The Dark Knight Rises last week, I'm totally in a catty mood. For someone who finds Anne Hathaway absolutely annoying, I find myself enjoying almost all of her films (including The Princess Diaries...) and next to Bale, she definitely didn't disappoint this time around either. Along with that string of pearls she snags, I'm totally coveting the newest Catwoman's dark side vibe. Red lips, hot heels and a little leather (was that suit leather?), I have a feeling Selina Kyle would rock sweet black cateye sunnies on those bright days when she's out on the town casing a joint or two.

MEOW

Whichever Catwoman is your favorite, tap into your inner DC villainess and let your style go a little dark or a little sex-kitten in a shape that will pair perfectly with any side of your personality. Check out some of my favorite black cats of the moment - these pieces bring nothing but good luck and a little bit of attitude. XO!

Happy Fourth of July!

Red, White & Blue.

I think you know how I feel about American Flag bikini's and cut off jean shorts and if you don't...you should. Unless you're hitting up the local biker bar or fraternity party (themed of course) you shouldn't be wearing your pride on your chest. I prefer my red white and blue to be tastefully tailored - even if you are at the lake drinking out of coozy covered beer cans. A touch of red, lots of white and a little navy goes a long way - plus, who says your patriotism can't be shown through a great retro two-piece and sunnies that American royalty would have worn? Take a cue from Grace Kelly's book and make your fourth of July poolside attire stand out...in a good way.

If you're in a very luxe mood you can get your Grace inspired bikini from Norma Kamali and if you're on a more realistic budget, Philip Lim's version is pretty adorable too! For Red, White and Blue frames check out Oliver Goldsmith's Tak, Bude and Barton Perreira's Amari. Happy Fourth of July!

Gaga for Gogosha

Gogosha for Gaga

I'd say it's safe to say "you've arrived" when Lady Gaga buys a few dozen frames from your meticulously curated optical boutique. Julia Gogosha, optical extraordinaire and owner of Gogosha Optique in LA, has had quite a month. On top of being dubbed LA's #1 optical shop by Racked LA, Julia recently outfitted Lady Gaga in several frames from some of my favorite optical fashion houses. Gaga has been spotted around the globe in frames handpicked by Julia: above and below are a few for your viewing pleasure. Can you beat Thierry Lasry, Oliver Goldsmith, RVS by V, Selima, Andy Wolf, and perfect new vintage? Ugh...I dream of Gaga's optical wardrobe on a nightly basis, and Gogosha's newest additions are making my optical envy that much greater. Cheers to a great mentor, the ultimate "eye stylist", and the Anna Wintour of the optical world (in a totally non-devilish, just genius sort of way), Ms. Gogosha...and of course to the ultimate optical model - Lady Gaga. Find Lady Gaga's frames at Gogosha Optique or your favorite couture optical destination.

The Real Deal: Oliver Goldsmith

Showing us what it truly means to be "handmade", Oliver Goldsmith presents one of the coolest videos I've seen in awhile. If you couldn't understand before why I'm in love with these little pieces of art, maybe watching this process from concept to creation will get you a little closer to my level of optical obsession. Optical Porn at it's finest, thanks to Claire and the gang at Oliver Goldsmith for unfailingly fab frames and for continuing to create the real deal. XO!

LBF: Little Black Frame

LBF

Just like every girl needs a go-to Little Black Dress, she, too, needs a Little Black Frame. Some of my favorite Little Black Frames of the moment don't just appeal to the Jackie-O in you; get a little funky, seriously fresh and maybe a little Marilyn in black frames that don't look like they came from your Grandma's optical closet...that is, of course, unless you have a very chic Grandma.

Pair these favorites with a little Parker or Tucker and you'll be set even after the sun goes down. 1. Mykita 2. Persol 3. Oliver Goldsmith 4. Barton Perreira 5. Dita 6. Barton Perreira

Oliver Goldsmith Goes Nude!

I'll Have a Latte

Matte or shiny, these Oliver Goldsmith gems in Latte were some of my favorites of the entire optical show. A color I assume would wash me out, something about this beige hue just works...even on my decidedly Elmer's glue complexion! The Casper, an original style from 1971, and The Commandant, plucked from the 1964 archives, are everyday frames in a shade that will pair perfectly with whatever you're wearing. With my favorite Oliver Goldsmith color dubbed Mint Chocolate Chip, my affinity for describing inedible objects like they're food is made that much easier. Thanks Claire Goldsmith for making such yummy optical treats...this latte really is delicious!

Check out a real life instagrammed version here...and another new favorite in a metallic that I must have.
